My name is Mats van Rooijen and I am a motivated student with a strong interest in marketing, sports, and media. I enjoy collaborating with others and taking responsibility within projects and team environments.
I would describe myself as communicative, confident, and proactive. I enjoy working in fast-paced environments where teamwork and creativity play a major role.

Accomplishments

From an early age, Mats has dedicated his life to motorsport, steadily building a career through hard work, discipline, and outstanding performances on track. Over the years, he has achieved success in both national and international karting competitions before making the transition into professional car racing. His accomplishments reflect not only his natural speed and talent, but also his determination to continuously improve and compete at the highest level. Below are some of the key milestones that define Mats’ racing journey so far.

European Champion

Mats started karting at a very young age and quickly progressed to international competition. After multiple victories in the Netherlands, he achieved one of his first major milestones in 2022 by winning a European race. He also competed successfully in both the Dutch and Belgian championships, consistently racing against some of the best young drivers in Europe. His performances earned him opportunities with international teams and a move into faster, more competitive karts.

Pole Position at the World Championship

One of Mats’ biggest achievements came during the 2024 Karting World Championship, where he secured pole position against some of the fastest drivers in the world. Setting the quickest lap in an international field proved that he has the raw speed and talent to compete at the very highest level of motorsport. Achieving pole position at a world championship is a rare accomplishment that requires exceptional precision, confidence, and consistency.

From Karting to Cars

In 2024, Mats made the transition from karting to car racing by joining the Mazda Cup Benelux. Despite being one of the youngest and least experienced drivers on the grid, he immediately showed his potential. Within just a few weeks, he secured his first podium finish at Circuit Zandvoort while competing against much faster and more experienced cars. The result highlighted not only his speed, but also his racecraft, determination, and ability to perform under pressure.
